Many times, I feel a need...no...an obligation to share all of the fine art that the Web and all of it's goodness has brought into my humble abode over the years. Looking for and at art on the net is one of my fav. things to do...sorry if that sounds boring...maybe i am but if you share my appreciation of the arts in general you will love the beauty and creativity infused in Thomas Broome's work. I was bored over the weekend and decided to do a Photoshop tutorial from the Web. I stumbled upon (randomly not with StumbleUpon) this tutorial to make a photo of yourself look like something from the movie Sin City. It goes step by step so that anyone with Photoshop should be able to make it. It is basically all levels & grain adjustment. I added in the words on top which were both Googled freeware fonts! Also if you click on the image and see it large you can see my sexy brown eyes :)
I decided the other day to try an idea that popped into my head. I've gotta admit I was a little nervous going into it because I'm not the best artist in the world but I try. Anyway, an idea I have for you all while you decorate your homes to the finest is by creating your own art....even if you aren't an artist. For example, to the right I took a picture of my best friend Sam's eye, converted the picture to black and white, zoomed way in, and colored it all by hand. It only took about an hour and isn't the greatest but it would be really cool to be able to look at my own art each day if I were to have this blown up and hung on the wall.
I'm not sure what it is but old, vintage photos and art depicting Manhattan just seem to hit a button with me. This is one of the coolest sites in the Flavorpill network. Jason Brooks a illustrator who uses Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create beautiful comic like art that is usually pop culture influenced. Based out of London he is most recognized for the work he did for the House/Dance label, Hed Kandi. The label has featured Jason's art on many of their CD covers.
