This is a collection of Chill-out House tracks that are mixed into 2 CDs that come from bars that I only wish I could find here in Iowa City! This is the absolute best album I have ever come across to put on if you are throwing a cocktail party. The album is uptempo enough to create a fun atmosphere yet stays on the chill side. I would highly recommend picking this album up for anyone who needs good background sounds to their parties or events. Available from Amazon for $14.49.
Almost everyone loves Motown classics. This is a Motown album for a new generation, taking such songs as Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On, Jackson 5 - I Want You Back, and Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed, Delievered and changing the landscape of the songs while keeping the foundations. The great part about this album is it can be played in mixed company, older and younger people alike will appreciate this CD. At the club I DJ at, I often times play songs from this on parent's weekends when there is an older crowd in the bar and it goes over well. Well, I have a final in two hours, one tonight, and then I'm done so this is the beginning of a long string of articles! To kick it off I wanted to share with you a sweet new site that I found and it is in place of the regular album of the week article. It is a site called Musicovery and the way it works is you pick one of the 18 genres they have listed and then choose what kind of mood you want. The moods are dark and positive on the X axis and calm and energetic on the Y axis. Once this is chosen a crazy chart is made with songs according to your selections and you are free to change the songs by navigating the chart. It is a really fun, stylish way to find new music! Om: Winter Sessions Album which features DJs Justin Martin and Johnny Fiasco. I picked this album up about 2 weeks ago and not a day goes by that I don't chillout or jam-out to it. It is predominantly House (Deep House) with a little Electro and Disco House. Probably my favorite track from the album is Switch - Get on Downz which is on the first CD. I would give this a huge thumbs up and encourage all to buy!

Stop! Before reading this article and listening to this album come with an open mind...ready? I did that not because this is a bad album (why would I post it?) but because this is not like any album you have ever listened to. Jason Forrest, previously known as Donna Summer, is in expert in expressionistic, experimental electronica. Noisy maximalism is probably the best way to convey what you are about to hear yet it is highly recommended by The Style Lounge! Our favorite track is "Spectacle to Refute All Judgements" in which Jason samples The Whispers to create some insane beats! Also we love the cover which is what you see to the left! This is one of the chill house classics! Anyone who is a "House Music Aficionado" like myself should have this album in their music library! I know the album cover is freakin' sexy but the music inside is even more beautiful. This album was Miguel Migs breakthrough as a good to great artist. Check out Miguel's music!
